Abstract For the present study on Aerosol Deposition of MAX-phase materials, Ti 3 SiC 2 was chosen as model system due to availability property data and commercial powder. The as-received powder milled different nominal sizes. revealing details coating formation possible bonding mechanisms, experiments were performed for particle size batches process gas pressures. Microstructural analyses reveal that preferably occurs sizes smaller two microns. Using such small sizes, crack-free, dense layers can be obtained. individual deposition efficiencies particularly critical below which gets prominent, vary with flows associated Detailed microstructural coatings by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy plastic deformation fracture, both attributing shape adaption previous spray probably bonding.
